This spring and summer of 2017 blue is in vogue. At Turkestan we believe in the blue colour, its optimism and the wide variety of positive concepts it transmits. That is why we bring to all of you the BLAU (blue in catalan) collection, with a selection of innovative carpets and kilims from different eastern countries.
B L A U. The ocean’s reflection, a drop of rain, a calmed lake or the clear sky in the summer. All those moments are mixed in these unique pieces, the carpets, made of pure wool in different blue hues and creating a brilliant compositions.
Chromatically, the gem colors like the emerald green or the sapphire blue are consolidated in the decoration world as essentials. That is why we have created this inspirational collection.
This collection is made of pieces from different origins and styles that are connected through the blue colour. Also, the kilims and carpets have a contemporary design look that will perfectly go together with industrial decorations, minimalistic spaces or vintage atmospheres.
In the Blau collection we can find carpets from different origins: the iranian Gabbehs and the afghan Pashtuns, with geometric designs; the iranian flatweaves, like Banneh Ikat or Banneh Kiasar, with very innovative designs and colours; the Ziegler Stone Washed, which are afghan carpets washed and redyed with astonishing colours; and the Dizmeck Kilims, patchworks made up by turkish artists and composed by old fabrics.
