For this 2020's winter, Turkestan is introducing a brand-new collection called Estrats (Catalan for Strata) which features colours and textures of geological inspiration. Strata, the scientific term, metaphorically describes the rhythmic set of harmonious colours, even lines and sound coloured blocks that shape our decorative proposal.
Additionally, the strata concept not only evokes the overlay of sedimentary layers but also depicts the creative process of oriental carpets, which are the succession of many generations that have improved techniques such as the hand-spinning or hand-knotting of the wool. In each one of our rugs one can witness the outcome of a persistent historical and cultural progression that blend together splendidly.
